Formula grants
Functional Standards Common Glossary, published by the Cabinet Office, defines formula grants as: ‘Grants calculated by way of a formula (e.g. grant funding provided by central government to local authorities, schools and the Police, which is determined by factors such as population and levels of pupils who receive free school meals).’
